Katy Perry rocked purple lipstick on the day Prince died — do you think it was a tribute to the iconic singer and performer?
Prince, 57, sadly passed away on April 21 in his Minneapolis home. On the same day in Los Angeles, Katy Perry, 31, rocked a purple lip at a “Make More Happen” event, possibly as a nod to the “Purple rain” singer.

Katy rocked the purple lip look at an event in L.A. benefiting schools and children. Her hair was in a gorgeous crown braid.
On April 15, Katy revealed that she is creating her own COVERGIRL collection. She tweeted: “Tickled pink (among other shades) to share THE KATY KAT COLLECTION I created w @COVERGIRL just 4 U #KATYxCOVERGIRL.” She continued: “After several wonderful years of BEING the face, I now get to CREATE the face!”
Katy Perry’s Purple Lipstick — Pays Tribute To Prince On The Day He Died?
12 shades of matte lipstick are now available for pre-order at Walmart.com!
We’re guessing she is wearing the purple shade, which is named “Cosmo Kitty.” Other shades have adorable names like Purrisan Pink, Kitty Purry, and Maroon Meow.
Her lipsticks don’t drop until July, so in the meantime, try this purple shade – NYX Macaron Pastel Lippies Lipstick in Lavender.
On her upcoming collection, Katy says: “Personally, I love a matte finish more than a gloss because a gloss gets all over everything. I want to put my lipstick on once in the early morning and not have to think about it for quite a few hours, you know? My lipsticks are a moisturizing demi-matte because sometimes mattes can make you look like you haven’t drank water in two weeks. Obviously you don’t want scabby lips just because you want your lipstick to stay forever! You want to look hydrated.”
Her line will also feature two mascaras. Do you love Katy’s purple lip look? Do you think it was a tribute to Prince?
