Eek! With Kelly Ripa still missing in action from ‘Live,’ Michael Strahan was teased by his temporary co-host, Erin Andrews, about the awkward drama going on behind-the-scenes since he announced his exit.
Michael Strahan, 44, is not ready to make jokes about the drama surrounding his departure from Live. The former NFL star made that very clear when his fill-in co-host, Erin Andrews, 37, made a joke referencing the significantly awkward situation in which Kelly Ripa, 45, has more or less disappeared from Live since Michael’s announcement.
It doesn’t look like anyone on Live will be addressing the massive elephant in the room any time soon. On their Thursday morning episode, April 21, Michael quickly shut down his co-host for the day, Erin, when she poked a little fun at all of the hoopla surrounding his surprising exit.
“So, what else has been going on here?” Erin asked jokingly, obviously referencing all of the talk about Michael leaving the show and Kelly’s sudden disappearance from the desk. The audience found it hilarious, and even Michael cracked a smile, but he made sure to let Erin know they were definitely not going down that road.
“Too soon!” he replied quickly, to which the audience laughed once again. Hey, at least they have a sense of humor about it — even if it’s just a little bit.
Despite everything happening, Kelly isn’t planning on leaving the show any time soon, HollywoodLife.com previously reported. The longtime co-host of the morning talk show reportedly rakes in a $15 million annual paycheck, and sources close to her reveal she’s not ready to give that up just yet.
