Fear not, ‘Live’ fans! A new report claims that no matter what goes down with Michael Strahan before he leaves the show, Kelly Ripa is staying put in her co-host chair once he’s gone — and for GOOD reason.
Kelly Ripa, 45, reportedly has zero intentions on leaving Live once her co-host of four years, Michael Strahan, 44, moves on to greener pastures. As unfortunate and awkward as his departure has been for everyone involved in the show, sources have explained why we shouldn’t expect to see Kelly walk away from it next.

No, Kelly isn’t planning to make a great escape from her co-hosting gig at Live any time soon, reports TMZ. After her alleged pre-planned vacation to Turks & Caicos with her husband, Mark Consuelos, she’s set to return to Live and join Michael at their desk for all to see. Why? Well, the answer is pretty simple: money.
Sources claim that Kelly is not willing to give up her reported $15 million annual paycheck for her gig on the show, especially because she and Mark live such a lavish lifestyle. “She makes a lot of money, but she spends a lot of money, and so does he,” a source explained in the report, revealing why Kelly has no intentions on actually leaving the show.
In fact, in 2015 Kelly and her family allegedly dropped a load of cash on a massive townhouse in New York City’s Upper East Side. Oh, and the report mentions that they also own a huge mansion in the Hamptons which is likely where they stay during Live‘s off-season. You can see an aerial shot of Kelly’s Hamptons house HERE.
Well, at least there’s some good news in all of this drama! Kelly gets to keep her job, and Live doesn’t have to find two new hosts for their show.
Even though Kelly doesn’t plan on leaving the show, she’s taking a hiatus from sitting next to Michael in what is reportedly a family vacation to celebrate her wedding anniversary on May 1. Kelly’s vacation comes at an extremely awkward time though, as the day after Michael announced he was leaving the show Kelly didn’t appear for their new episode. Hmm.
