You know love her music and are obsessed with her movies, but are you ready to know the REAL Selena Gomez? Selena is set to produce an autobiographical drama for Lifetime — how cool is that?
Selena Gomez, 23, has already led such a full life that she’s executive producing a scripted drama based on her experiences for Lifetime! The series, which is on the network’s development slate, was announced at the Lifetime upfronts on April 20. We’re so excited! Click through for all the details!
The show is set to be a scripted drama inspired by Selena’s life, and is yet to be titled, according to Deadline. May we suggest Revival? Selena is making herself a quadruple-threat by executive producing the project! Funnily, Kevin Spacey is also executive producing. What?? No, he’s not playing Justin Bieber, 22!
The show is only in the idea stage — it doesn’t even have a writer yet — s0 take this with a grain of salt. But the concept is being likened to Entourage. Selena’s experiences as a singer and an actress would be told through the eyes of her friends and inner circle, much like how Mark Wahlberg‘s life was translated through the HBO hit. Okay, that sounds really cool. But would it ever work?
Selena’s life hasn’t always been glitz and glam, though; there’s some rocky details that will definitely be explored in this drama. Selena was born to teenage parents, and experienced hardships growing up despite being a child actor. She’s lived in the spotlight her entire life, growing up under the watchful, judging eyes of the public. She’s dealt with insane, lasting heartbreak with Justin for years. And on top of it all, she’s had to struggle with having lupus. It’s not easy being Selena.
