Now that Conor McGregor has retired, could he be headed to the WWE? He began following some of the WWE’s biggest names on Twitter April 19 and even WWE star Becky Lynch is urging him to join. Do you think he’ll do it?
Will Conor McGregor go from UFC featherweight champion to WWE star? The 27-year-old announced he’s retiring “young” and then almost immediately began following WWE’s Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. The Irish star appears to be considering it but we’re not exactly sure just how seriously but Becky Lynch‘s tweet definitely has fans buzzing.
Conor is already becoming a household name and it he wouldn’t be the first UFC star to join the WWE. Just look at heavyweight Ken Shamrock, Brock Lesnar and even Ronda Rousey made a guest appearance at Wrestlemania 31. Becky tweeted “#ComeJoinMeBro” at the UFC star and that’s when fans took a peak at his Twitter. He’s only following 452 people so it wasn’t hard to see who he had recently opted to follow.
In case you’re wondering why he tweeted he was retiring, here’s a little refresher. UFC President Dana White announced on Apr. 19 that Conor had been pulled from UFC 200’s main event, his rematch against Nate on July 9 because he would not participate in any promotional activities. Perhaps that’s why he tweeted: “I have decided to retire young. Thanks for the cheese. Catch ya’s later.” It sounds like Conor was just angry and using his tweet as an opportunity to vent. We don’t really think he would just up and walk away from his successful career but then again, you never know! There have been so many people that have made the transition and if anyone could do it, it would be Conor!
