A wrestling legend is getting ready to return to the ring after nearly a year out of the spotlight! Bret’s doing it for the family! Natalya really needs his support in her re-match against Charlotte at WWE’s Payback on May 1, and the Hitman is ready to be there for her. Of course, Charlotte will have her dad, and Bret’s nemesis, Ric Flair, in her corner for the match, as usual, as she tries to defend her WWE Divas Championship.
Nattie actually got Charlotte to tap in their match on April 11, but the current champion won on a technicality thanks to her father. Now, Natalya is ready to change that with a legend in her own corner.
“Your father may have saved you last week, but that doesn’t change the fact that you tapped out,” she taunted at Raw on April 18. “That’s why Shane McMahon has granted me a rematch at WWE Payback.”
Of course, Charlotte wasn’t convinced the end results things will be any different this time around, which is when Nattie announced her big news. “The ending will be very different [this time] because I’m going to have somebody in my corner, too: Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart,” she revealed, completely shocking Charlotte and her father.
Bret is considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006. However, he was sadly diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year, and underwent surgery in February. He’s clearly on the road to recover, though — perhaps we’ll even see a fight between him and Ric at Payback?!
Are you excited to see Bret returning to the ring, HollywoodLifers? Or do you think it’s too soon?
