It’s that time of the week again — another big elimination on ‘The Voice.’ This time, only one artist will be sent home, narrowing 12 singers down to Season 10’s Top 11. Follow along with the results in real time with our live blog right here!
It’s results time! Either Pharrell, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton or Christina Aguilera will lose one artist on the April 19 elimination episode of The Voice, and it’s all based on America’s vote. Plus, the singers at the bottom will get a chance to redeem themselves with one last performance for viewers’ Instant Save on Twitter and Gwen Stefani is in the house to perform. To kick off the show, Gwen returns to The Voice stage to perform her new song “Misery,” with her man, Blake, proudly looking on from right in the front. As usual, she’s totally incredible, and all the coaches happily stand up to cheer her on.
The fun doesn’t last for long, though, as host Carson Daly reveals it’s already time to get to some results. He announces that the first two artists safe are Adam Wakefield, from Blake’s team, and Alisan Porter from Team Christina. Both singers made the Top 10 on the iTunes charts this week, too — pretty impressive!
After a quick chat with the coaches, it’s time to let two more singers know they’re moving on to the Top 11. First up is another Team Christina artist, Bryan Bautista, followed by Pharrell’s contestant Daniel Passino. Congrats, guys — so well deserved!
Next, it’s time to take a little break from the nerve-racking elimination lead-up with a performance from Blake’s team. Mary Sarah, Paxton Ingram and Adam are joined by their coach for a rendition of “I Love A Rainy Night” and it’s so fun to watch!
Carson then reveals that Shalyah Fearing, from Team Adam, Paxton Ingram from Team Blake and Laith Al-Saadi, from Team Adam, will advance to the Top 11, leaving just five artists left waiting to hear their fate.
Another performance is next, with Adam and his team members, Laith, Owen Danoff and Shalyah, taking the stage to sing “If I Stay.” It’s always so fun when the contestants get to get up their with their mentor, and this is no different!
The final three to be announced safe are Pharrell’s Hannah Huston, Christina’s Nick Hagelin, and Blake’s Mary Sarah. That means Blake and Christina have all three contestants heading into the Top 11, while Adam’s Owen Danoff and Pharrell’s Emily Keener will get one last chance to perform for America’s Instant Twitter save.
For her last chance performance, Emily sings “Blue Eyes Singin’ In The Rain,” and showcases her smooth, breathy, unique tone, as well as her ability to captivate an audience with nothing but her voice. It’s incredible, but Owen gives her some tough competition with a rendition of “Lego House,” that’s equally as breathtaking.
During the commercial break, viewers are able to vote on Twitter to save one of these artists, and in the end, it’s Owen who gets chosen to move on. That means, sadly, Emily is going home, and Pharrell is one artist short compared to the rest of the coaches as we head into next week.
The Top 11 will perform again on April 25 to continue fighting to stay in this thing — make sure you’re voting for your faves!
