LOL! Stephen Colbert is NOT convinced by Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s apology to Australia for smuggling their dogs into the country…so of course he had to poke fun at the couple’s insincere video on ‘The Late Show.’ Watch his epic and hilarious re-creation of the apology here!
If you thought Amber Heard, 29, and Johnny Depp’s apology video to Australia was totally insincere…you’re definitely not the only one! Stephen Colbert was completely baffled by the couple’s lack of emotion in the clip, and took it upon himself to mock them for it. You have to watch him re-create the video here!
In the clip, Stephen and a female companion portray the unemotional, straight-faced couple, and make their own apologies to the land Down Under. Just like Johnny and Amber, they sing Australia’s praises, but do so completely unemotionally, poking fun at the pair’s lack of emotion while issuing their own apology.
In case you missed what went down, Amber and Johnny faced jail time for illegally smuggling their two dogs into Australia, but were let off by the country’s government. However, as part of the plea deal, they had to make a video apologizing and explaining why Aussies are so strict bout letting undeclared animals in — their continent is free of many pests and diseases that are common in other places of the world, and letting these creatures in could spread them much easier.
These two got lucky, because even though they sent their smuggled dogs home before the 72-hour deadline was up, they still could’ve faced up to ten years in jail! You’d think they could’ve been a bit more sincere in the apology after being able to avoid that, no!?
What do you think of Stephen’s re-creation of Johnny and Amber’s video, HollywoodLifers? Do you think their apology was sincere?
