We’re sad to see Michael Strahan hang up his ‘Live with Kelly & Michael’ hat, but we are excited to see who Kelly Ripa will bring on as a replacement — and HollywoodLife.com has learned exclusively the ‘fun’ process she has planned.
There’s no replacing Michael Strahan — but we know that Kelly Ripa can totally get through; Regis Philbin was also irreplaceable after 28 years when he left and in 2012, she found Michael. So, what’s her next move now that Michael has officially left? Well, she actually could be putting the whole choice in the audiences’ hands.

“They are going to have another search and they are hoping it will be someone brand new and someone not expected,” an insider close to the show told HollywoodLife.com. “Someone that embodies the pleasant surprise that Kelly was when she got the job, and Michael was when he got the job.”
There are many people in the running in the fans’ minds — especially since she’s had so many guest hosts through the years — but they’re looking for someone completely different. “Live will definitely take advantage of the search and have it go on for however long it takes, but they want it to be someone new, someone that might not originally be a host,” the source added. “Kelly wants to make the process fun and whomever is eventually picked, it will be the perfect choice because the audience will make the final decision.”
Well, we’d love that — and we’ve already starting thinking of options. Maybe her hubby, Mark Consuelos? We all know he is very loved. Or possibly Anderson Cooper, who we all know can rock on live TV — and he has been a guest host multiple times. And then there’s Peyton Manning, who just retired and is a great public speaker. Well, maybe we’ll get to vote on it.
Who would you want, HollywoodLifers?
