Is this the final straw for Johnny Manziel? The promising young quarterback is having a hard time finding a new team since the Cleveland Browns let him go, and now his agent Drew Rosenhaus is leaving him in the dust following a weekend of partying at Coachella. Here’s the scoop.
Johnny Manziel, 23, has gotten himself in real trouble this time. His new agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has decided to cut ties with the former Cleveland Browns quarterback after only two months, leaving him without help at a time when he desperately needs to find a new team. Drew decided to bail after Johnny was caught partying at Coachella. We have the details here.
Oh Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, what have you done? The QB is desperately searching for a new team after the Browns let him go, and his final hope was his agent Drew. Then he decided to go partying at Coachella after Drew gave him an ultimatum, and now he’s up the creek without a paddle.
“I have informed him that if he takes the immediate steps I have outlined for him, that I will rescind the termination and continue to represent him,” Drew told him on April 13, according to ESPN. “Otherwise the termination will become permanent. There is a five-day window for me to rescind the termination. I’m hoping he takes the necessary steps to get his life back on track.”
Drew did this “in the hopes of helping him get the treatment I believe he needs,” but instead of taking his threat seriously, he went to Coachella where he drank and partied all weekend. Drew has had enough and officially called it quits.
Drew was only Johnny’s agent for two months. His former agent Erik Burkhardt dumped him in Feb. saying, “accountability is the foundation of any relationship, and without it, the function of my work is counterproductive.” Basically, if Johnny can’t prove himself reliable, then all of the help in the world can’t get him a job. Now he’s going to be very hard pressed to get on a team for the 2016/17 season.
