Primary results have never been so exciting! New York went hard on April 19 when they announced the winners of the Democratic and Republican primaries by changing the Empire State Building different colors, and Donald Trump’s had Twitter buzzing. See the hilarious tweets, here.
Oh my god! New York City was trying to do something cool and unique by lighting up the Empire State Building with different colors to represent the winners of the Democratic and Republican primaries on April 19, but it backfired when the dark red color for Donald Trump, 69, summoned some pretty hilarious comparisons. Check out the best ones, right here.
New York had a brilliant idea on April 19 – to light up the Empire State Building to announce the winners of the primaries. Each candidate was assigned a color, and many of them would have been very pretty. Hillary Clinton had a majestic blue. John Kasich would have been purple while Ted Cruz’ fans would have been excited to see coral.
That was not the case for Donald, who won the election and, in turn, changed the Empire State Building a chilling blood red color. Fans immediately rushed to Twitter to compare it to other scary buildings, like the Eye of Sauron from Lord of the Rings, Donald’s own red face, or Hogwarts being circled by Death Eaters. We must admit, it does look pretty scary. No one seemed to have any issues with the pleasant deep blue it turned to announce Hillary’s win.
Here are some of the most hilarious reactions to the Empire State Building turning dark red for Donald:
