Dorothy returned on the April 17 episode of ‘Once Upon A Time’ and crossed paths with Ruby. Our favorite wolf was able to save Dorothy in Oz, and Snow tagged along for the ride!
Dorothy graced us with her presence once again on the April 17 episode of Once Upon A Time. Ruby found herself in the Underworld and fought her way back to Dorothy in Oz. Plus, David made a huge sacrifice for Snow!
Ruby wouldn’t wake up, and no one could figure out how she got to the Underworld. They only found one thing on her — a piece of gingham cloth. Ruby had come from Oz, where she’d teamed up with Mulan. Toto ran into them, and Dorothy wasn’t too far behind.
Dorothy was a full-on warrior now, and she had a crossbow ready to fire. Toto ran off and Ruby offered to help because, you know, she was a wolf. But the Wicked Witch was coming. Ruh roh.
Zelena wanted Dorothy to help her get back to her baby by using the silver slippers. But they weren’t on Dorothy’s feet. If Dorothy didn’t help Zelena, little Toto would die! Dorothy and Ruby connected over a long walk. There was one special moment when everything changed. Ruby promised Dorothy she would get Toto back.
As they continued their journey, Ruby nicknamed Dorothy “Kansas.” In return, Dorothy gave Ruby a batch of flowers. But then those pesky flying monkeys showed up. Ruby transformed into a wolf, and Dorothy hopped on her back so they could escape. Teamwork!
Later, Mulan and Ruby had a heart-to-heart. “I think I’ve been looking for someone like her,” Ruby said about Dorothy. “I’ve never felt this way about anyone before.” When they went to find Dorothy, she had fled!
True Love’s Kiss
Back in the Underworld, Hades showed up to warn Zelena about Ruby’s arrival. Zelena didn’t want to fight Ruby. She wanted to be able to see her daughter again. But Hades really wanted to be a team to fight the rest of the heroes. Zelena refused. Burn.
Belle couldn’t live with what she had done to Gaston. Rumple assured her she was just protecting their child. Belle wanted to right this wrong on her own. Rumple would only make her do something she’d regret.
Ruby finally woke up and revealed she was looking for Dorothy. She had no idea what happened to her friend. There was only one solution — talk to Zelena. Zelena was getting ready to get out of the Underworld when Regina and the gang stopped her. Ruby demanded to know what happened to Dorothy.
Zelena had stricken Dorothy with a sleeping curse. There was only one thing that could break that — true love’s kiss. Zelena thought no one would be able to break that curse, but Ruby sure looked like she could!
Regina assured Zelena she could fix things and be a better person. Thanks to Regina’s pep talk, Zelena handed over the silver slippers. Regina gave them to Ruby, but she didn’t understand. Why would she go back if she couldn’t help Dorothy. Ruby believed there was only one person who loved Dorothy, and that was Aunt Em. And guess what? She could still be in the Underworld!
Don’t Drink The Soup
Meanwhile, the boys were busy with Cruella. She was doing Hades’ bidding by getting rid of the town telephone, the only way people could contact their loved ones. There was just a little too much hope in the Underworld. She was willing to strike a deal with David, but he wouldn’t go for it.
David ran to Snow and told her about the phone. Emma told her parents it was time for them to go back to Neal. They had done enough for her. But they had a major problem. Hades had carved Snow’s name on one of the tombstones, so she couldn’t leave. Snow urged David to go without her.
David let his frustrations out on Hook. “We shouldn’t be here,” he huffed in Hook’s face. Snow and David were missing key time with Neal, time they never got with Emma. Hook took a moment to thank David for everything he had done. Hook persuaded David to go to Oz so he could get back to Storybrooke.
Belle was willing to do whatever it took to save her baby, including asking Zelena for help. Zelena agreed to listen, but even she couldn’t get Hades to rip up his contract. Poor Belle.
The girls found Aunt Em, and all she needed to do was blow a kiss into a bottle. She had taken a sip of soup beforehand, and it proved deadly. When she opened the bottle, she melted. It was all thanks to Hades, who had tainted the soup.
But they didn’t need Aunt Em. There was someone else who truly loved Dorothy. Snow convinced Ruby to kiss Dorothy. Even though Ruby believed Dorothy didn’t feel the same, Snow said she should try.
The Ultimate Sacrifice
Speaking of love, David made a huge sacrifice for Snow. He traded his life for Snow’s on the tombstone! Now that’s epic It was time for Snow to go back to baby Neal.
Mulan was waiting by Dorothy’s side when Snow and Ruby showed up. Ruby kissed Dorothy, and it worked! Who is now shipping #Duby? Then they started kissing in front of everyone. Henry was busy writing this special moment down. Oh, and he told David that Snow made it back to Storybrooke!
Belle thought she had the perfect solution to her Hades problem — a sleeping curse. Hades couldn’t control her if she was asleep. She thought that would give Rumple enough time to get rid of the contract. Rumple’s biggest problem was waking her up. He didn’t want to be forced to be the man she wanted him to be. But Rumple wasn’t going to be waking Belle up. It was her father!
