Redrum! Redrum! A man staying at the Stanley Hotel, the destination that inspired The Overlook Hotel from ‘The Shining’ claims to have captured a spooky specter on camera! Click through to see the haunting photo!
This is too scary for words! Henry Yau, a guest at the Stanley Hotel in Estes, Colorado, is convinced that he saw a ghost on April 12 while taking a picture of the grand staircase. Oh my god! The chilling event happened at the hotel that inspired the terrifying location in the classic horror novel and movie, The Shining; that’s not a good sign! Click through to see the terrifying photo!
Nope!! We’re pretty sure that woman standing at the top of the stairs is going to ask us to come play with her forever and ever, and we are not having it! Henry captured this photo in the lobby of the hotel, which shows a frightening figure standing at the top of the stairs on the left side, clear as day. “By golly! I think I may have captured a #ghost at #StanleyHotel. #EstesPark,” he captioned his Instagram.
While you may think that Henry is just fooling everyone and snapped a pic of some random woman in the hotel, take a closer look. It appears that the apparition is wearing an old fashioned gown, her hair piled up in curls. From the Edwardian era? Ugh, we have chills! Henry took a pic of the same staircase, posted right before the ghostly photo, and nobody was there.
Henry was clearly excited to experience some paranormal activity during his stay, as he documented the details and history of the famed haunted hotel after arriving for his vacation. He made sure to snap a pic of the infamous Room 217, the place where “The Shining” author Stephen King had the nightmare that inspired the book and subsequent movie!
Some believed that the ghostly woman could be Mr. Stanley’s wife, Flora, who is believed to appear around the hotel every so often, along with other apparitions. Whoa! Will we ever know what happened, or who that person at the top of the stairs really is? We’re not certain if we really want to know!
