Prince William & Kate Middleton Recreate Princess Diana’s Iconic Taj Mahal Photo

Prince William and Kate Middleton tie up their trip to India nicely with a visit to the Taj Mahal, appropriately recreating Princess Diana’s memorable pic outside the iconic mausoleum. See the photo here!

How appropriate! Prince Willam, 33, and Kate Middleton, 34, recreated Princess Diana‘s iconic Taj Mahal photo 24-years later, as the Royal couple bring their trip to India to a close. William and Kate’s pic was taken on the same marble bench outside the mausoleum, just like Diana’s famous snap. Talk about history repeating!

However, Diana’s pic came at a time when her marriage to William’s dad Prince Charles had crumbled, and in her 1992 snap she appeared to be lost and forlorn in the monument known as the ‘monument of love.’ That image became symbolic of the devastation of their marriage.

But that didn’t stop William, who gathered photographers together to take the photo, to “create some memories of our own,” he said. They just look the picture of happiness in that snap, beaming for the cameras and leaning into once another. So sweet, so proper!

Before posing for the snap, Wills and Kate were taken by a local guide on a tour of the famous garden that surrounds the Taj Mahal. He couldn’t help but marvel at the architecture and the beauty as he told photographers, “I’m glad you have got your hats on. It is beautiful, isn’t it. It was overwhelming.”

Wills and Kate are getting ready to celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary on Apr. 29, and they just couldn’t appear happier. That was a fact not lost on their tour guide Rizwan Mohammed, who revealed he wished them the best.’They were shocked that I know about it, but you know the internet,” he said. “But then she said this is the perfect thing to do before their wedding anniversary. She was quite happy about it.”

The Royal duo left their kids at home while they took a tour of India for a week, taking all the sights before finally visiting the secret kingdom of Bhutan. It looks like they had an amazing time!
