Coachella 2016 is finally here, but if you’re anything like me, you don’t know much about the epic festival that everyone on social media is talking about. Luckily, we’ve put together a guide with everything you need to know.
From what celebs you should expect to see — hey, Kendall Jenner and Vanessa Hudgens — to who is performing on what day and what time, to where you can watch (spoiler: here!), we’ve put together a quick guide of everything you need to know before Coachella weekend officially begins.
When is it?
Coachella’s weekend one officially begins TODAY, April 15. The doors open for the whole concert at 11AM PT.
Where is it?
Every year, Coachella takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. There are six different stages: Coachella stage, Outdoor theater, Gobi, Mojave, Sahara, and Yuma.
For the full lineup and the set list, you can click into our gallery above but here are some highlights. A few big performers for day one are Ellie Goulding, A$AP Rocky, and G-Eazy. Saturday the must-see performers are Guns N’ Roses, Ice Cube, Zedd and Halsey! Then on Sunday, you don’t want to miss Calvin Harris or Sia, who play back to back on the Coachella Stage as the last two of the weekend.
What celebrities go?
Every year, Coachella is the must-go for so many celebs. We’ve seen everyone from Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, Nikki Reed, Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger to Justin Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Vanessa Hudgens. Plus, with Calvin performing, Taylor Swift may show up with Selena Gomez.
What do you do after the concerts?
At the end of Saturday night, there is an annual star-studded afterparty fair called Neon Carnival. Many A-listers have been spotted there (hey, Leonardo DiCaprio) and this year there will be new rides and new DJs like Kayper, Politik, DJ Ruckus and Jesse Marco! While this doesn’t have an official affiliation with Coachella, it’s a must-go if you can get in.
