Taylor Swift, 26, still hasn’t gotten over how hurtful it was for the public to criticize her so harshly over her dating history in her early 20s. She may be in a happy, stable relationship with Calvin Harris, 32, now, but she’ll never forget the feeling of being ‘slaughtered’ in the press in her past. Ouch!

“I went out on a normal amount of dates in my early 20s, and I got absolutely slaughtered for it,” she told Vogue. “And it took a lot of hard work and altering my decision-making. The problem, of course, was that most, if not all, the men Tay was linked to…were also famous. She briefly dated Joe Jonas, Harry Styles, John Mayer, Taylor Lautner and Jake Gyllenhaal, so it’s not surprising that the relationship were all blown up like crazy. Things are much different now, though: She’s been dating Calvin for more than a year, and they’ve made a point to keep things very much low-key and private. They haven’t even walked a red carpet together yet! “I’m just taking things as they come,” she explained to the mag. “I’m in a magical relationship right now. And of course I want it to be outs and low-key…this is the one thing that’s been mine about my personal life.”
The couple looked more in love than ever while attending the iHeartRadio Awards on April 3, and we couldn’t be happier that they’ve found happiness. “For the first time, I had the most amazing person to come home to when the spotlight went out and when the crowds were gone,” she gushed in her winner speech for Best Tour. “So I want to thank my boyfriend Adam for that.”
