This is so terrifying. Nigel Barker spoke out on his SiriusXM show ‘Gentleman’s Code’ on April 11 and revealed that when he was eight-years-old a man shoved him into a building and pulled his ‘trousers’ down. In an emotional interview he reveals that it haunted him for most of his life.
Nigel Barker is sharing a very emotional moment from his childhood with his fans. The former America’s Next Top Model judge made a shocking admission on his radio show, Gentleman’s Code, April 11 and revealed that a man in his 40s stopped him on the street and asked him for directions. He said that it was then the man “pushed” him into a building and shut the door behind him. He said he was absolutely terrified and began “screaming and thrashing.”
The fashion photographer says that when the man asked him for help, that’s when he “pushed me from behind and jolted me through the doors and I fell to my feet inside the door.” Nigel goes on to say that he was on the ground and absolutely terrified of what was going to happen next. “The door closed and I’m now trapped between a stairwell inside and a shut door. I have a man who is much bigger than me, push me to the ground, grab me, pull my trousers and my pants down. I’m now exposed and I’m screaming and thrashing,” he recounted. “I kicked and I actually kicked him in the nuts and he sort of jumped back for a second. Enough for me to get up, squeeze out, and as he tried to grab for me in the back of my neck and the back of my hair, I ran out. And I ran all the way home.”
But even though he managed to escape, he says he kept the incident a secret for several years. “Now here’s the thing: I didn’t tell anyone. I didn’t tell my parents. I didn’t tell my brothers. I told no one. I was humiliated. I was scared. I was worried,” he said. “I thought I had done the wrong thing. I thought I had done the bad thing. It was something that stuck with me for a very long time. Get out there. Talk about it. And don’t be afraid. Empower our children and our kids to do just that.”
