He’s back! Just four months after being named winner of ‘The Voice,’ Jordan Smith returned to the show that jumpstarted his career for a memorable performance of ‘Stand In The Light’ that reminded us why we fell in love with him during Season 9.
Jordan Smith has been hard at work on his music since winning The Voice in December, and now, he’s back to show us what he’s been working on. The 22-year-old returned to the show during the April 13 results episode and performed his new song “Stand In The Light,” and he was even better than we remembered!
Just like when he was on the show, Jordan completely slayed his performance of his new single, never faltering once and totally giving us chills the entire time. Seriously, does this guy ever NOT hit the right note?! He’s an absolutely unreal singer and we can’t wait to hear more inspiring music from him!
Jordan was a frontrunner throughout all of Season 9 of the show, beginning from when he got all four chairs to turn in his Blind Audition, and through all the live shows, during which his songs made the Top 10 on iTunes every single week. There was pretty much no question that the powerhouse singer was going to win the show, and we love that he came back to show this season’s competitors how it’s done! After officially being named the Season 9 winner in December, Jordan got to work on his album, and released Something Beautiful on March 18, 2016. While he hasn’t had much mainstream success, his record debuted at No. 2 on the iTunes sales list, and we’re loving what we’re hearing!
Jordan also achieved a major personal milestone after The Voice — he got engaged to his girlfriend, Kristen, on New Year’s Day 2016. Kristen was by Jordan’s side for his entire journey on the show, and we’re so excited for them!
