Willow Smith makes a bold beauty statement on the cover of ‘Teen Vogue!’ Going retro with her makeup look, Willow wears Cleopatra-inspired eyeliner and minimal makeup on the rest of her face. Click ahead for more on her graphic liner look.
Willow Smith, 15, is definitely not your average teenager, something which her May cover and interview with Teen Vogue magazine only further confirms. The daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow has already had a hit song (“Whip My Hair”), and is now set to make her mark in the fashion world as the face of Chanel.
For her Teen Vogue cover look, Willow went retro with a graphic winged-out eyeliner look by Lottie. To get the look, Lottie used the Chanel Ligne Graphique De Chanel Liquid Eyeliner Intensity Definition to draw a bold line on her lower lash line, running from the inner corner of her eye outwards to line up with the end of her brows.
Rather than simply lining her upper lash line, Lottie created a line along Willow’s lid and connected it with the winged line. The rest of Willow’s makeup was kept simple with dewy skin and a neutral lip that really let the eye makeup shine.
In her interview with the mag, Willow talks about how her style doesn’t really change who she is: “I have some cool shoes on and I wear crazy eyeliner, but it’s really all about emulating the colors you feel inside. A lot of clothes are cute, but after you buy the Yeezy shoes, after you get your hair done with a weave, you’re still the same person. I feel like more and more kids are starting to realize this.”
Willow also chats on what it means to her to be the new and youngest ambassador of Chanel. The surprising announcement, which was appropriately made at the Chanel show during Paris Fashion Week, even took Willow by surprise. “Being a young African-American woman with dreads, it blows my mind that I’m a Chanel ambassador. Like, how am I a Chanel ambassador?”
