‘The Voice’ is currently in its tenth season, but the show has yet to create a breakout star like ‘American Idol’ did with Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and more. So now that ‘Idol’s over, producers are putting more of an emphasis on making that happen from here on out!
The Voice is on a mission to create its biggest star to date! Now that American Idol is over and not in the way anymore, producers of the NBC series hope to produce a breakout star like Kelly Clarkson, HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned.
“Producers have always wanted to have a star come out of the show, but so far it hasn’t happened. However, now that The Voice is the only show of its type on TV and they are getting Miley [Cyrus as a judge], they really want to prove that they can make a star. There is going to be more of an emphasis to make that happen from this season on,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
The winners of the past nine seasons have been Javier Colon, Jermaine Paul, Cassadee Pope, Danielle Bradbery, Tessanne Chin, Josh Kaufman, Craig Wayne Boyd, Sawyer Fredericks and Jordan Smith, but unfortunately, none of them have gone on to become massive stars like Idol’s Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson or Chris Daughtry.
With Idol having ended on April 7, however, producers of The Voice are now thinking they have a good shot at making that happen. “Everyone now thinks they will have their best seasons coming up because all the talent will head to them,” a source told us EXCLUSIVELY. “So everyone is looking forward to the immediate future and they expect major success.”
