Neve Campbell is the ultimate ‘Scream’ star — the movie wouldn’t be what it was without her as Sydney Prescott; and who knows if the show would even exist. So, why did she turn down the chance to do a cameo on the MTV series?
After having her son in 2012, Neve Campbell took some much deserved time off — until she returned to TV with her role on House of Cards. HollywoodLife.com caught up with the actress at Variety‘s Power of Women luncheon on April 8, where she admitted that she’s actually never seen the MTV show, Scream, based on the movies that made her so famous. Watch our interview here.
“I was invited when it was starting, but it didn’t seem to make sense to me,” Neve, 42, admitted on the red carpet.”Well I wasn’t working at the time — I was just being a mom; but also, because I’m a part of the films, for some reason, it didn’t make sense to me.”
Neve actually took the day off to focus on being a parent after having her son, Caspian, with actor JJ Feild. While she dabbled slightly — starring in an episode of Mad Men and two episodes of Manhattan, it wasn’t until 2016 when she joined House of Cards as LeAnn Harvey.
Well, season two of Scream is about to kick off and since last season involved a lot of really surprising and equally creepy twists, we’d have to admit, we think she’d fit right in, even in just a small cameo role. Hey, she could totally play a sibling of Audrey’s (Bex Taylor-Klaus).
Neve also admitted to us that she’s never seen it! “I haven’t seen it,” she said, laughing. “I need to watch it!”
Girl, we agree! Do you wish that Neve would make a cameo in Scream when it returns for season two on May 31?
