We’re already down to the top 10 contestants, and guest judge Zendaya added some spice to Disney night!
First up, Antonio Brown, 27, and Sharna Burgess danced Jazz to “Friend Like Me” from Aladdin. Judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba had a lot to say! Len said it was his best dance so far this season. Zendaya said it was “amazing” and that she was smiling the entire time! “The Disney magic is working already,” Bruno said! Carrie Ann called him a “smooth operator!” They got a 35 out of 40, including three 9’s!
Watch their dance here:
Marla Maples, 52, danced the Waltz with Tony Dovolani to “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid. “It was fluid, it was soft…sometimes you have to let it go and enjoy the process,” Zendaya said. Bruno said it was beautiful. “You brought [Ariel] to life. You have natural elegance and grace,” Carrie Ann said. “It had charm, it had elegance, it had romance. Another solid performance,” Len said. They got a 28 out of 40!
Nyle DiMarco, 26, danced a sexy shirtless Samba with Peta Murgatroyd to “Trashin’ the Camp” from Disney’s Tarzan. “The lord of the jungle is now the lord of the dance. You are perfectly un-dressed for the occasion! Great work,” Bruno said. “What can’t you do?” Carrie Ann said. “It had great energy. The Samba you did do was terrific,” Len said. Zendaya said everyone in the room had fun. They got a 34!
Football star Doug Flutie, 53, and his partner Karina Smirnoff danced Jazz to “A Spoonful of Sugar” from Mary Poppins. “I saw the makings of a good routine but I don’t think we got that,” Carrie Ann said. “You made it fun, you made it entertaining, it just got out of sync,” Len said. They got a 24, but then, they were told they are safe and through to next week! Shocking!
‘DWTS’ Who Went Home On Disney Night? — Dancing With The Stars Season 22 Recap
Next, Kim Fields, 46, and Sasha Farber performed a Quickstep to “I Wanna Be Like You” from The Jungle Book. “There was plenty of zip in the performance…your best dance so far,” Len said. Zendaya said it gave her a lot of joy. “The energy level was excellent. We’ve been telling you for weeks about your shoulders.. tonight, much better,” Bruno said. Carrie Ann said they make it look effortless! They got a 32!
Jodie Sweetin, 34, danced the Cha Cha with Keo Motsepe to “Try Everything” from Zootopia. Jodie was upset because she messed up during the dance. “You had a few fumbles but you kept going with a smile on your face,” Zendaya said. “It was an underwhelming performance,” Carrie Ann said, and Jodie said it’s because she couldn’t hear the music. “It wasn’t underwhelming at all. It’s like getting a pimple on your nose. You hope no one notices but everyone does. But underwhelming, it was not. Well done,” Len said. They got a 27 out of 40!
Von Miller, 26, and Witney Carson danced a Viennese Waltz to “A Dream is a Wish” from Cinderella. “What a stunning transformation since last week. I am enchanted!” Bruno said. Carrie Ann said, “that is the champion I have been looking for!” “Last week was drab, this week was fab! Footwork, musicality, great stuff,” Len said. Zendaya got caught up in the fairytale! They got a 32!
Ginger Zee, 35, danced the Foxtrot with Val Chmerkovskiy to “Belle” from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. It was my favorite of the night! “That was ridiculously good. That was the best hold I’ve seen of any partnership this whole season,” Carrie Ann said. “What a tasty dish. Undoubtedly, for me, the best dance this season,” Len said. Zendaya said it was like a Broadway musical! “It was a visual treat. You were playing the part to perfection,” Bruno said. They got a 36, the highest score of the night!
Next, Boyz II Men’s Wanya Morris, 42, and partner Lindsay Arnold danced an amazing Samba to “Circle of Life” from Disney’s The Lion King. Len said a bunch of nonsense but then added that it was fantastic. Zendaya loved his determination. “You are a magnificent beast. A top predator. You gave it everything and more. You killed it,” Bruno said. Carrie Ann said he over-danced it a bit in the beginning. They got a 35!
Finally, UFC fighter Paige VanZant, 21, and partner Mark Ballas danced a Quickstep to “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from Pixar’s Toy Story. Zendaya said it was amazing. “Going for infinity and beyond! It was so unexpected creatively!” Bruno said. Carrie Ann continued: “Your athleticism carried you through that dance. It was fantastic. You blew me away.” Len said they ended the night on a happy note, just like all Disney movies do. They got a 36, and tied for first place!
Unfortunately, another pair had to go home. At the end of the night, Marla and Tony were eliminated. Pretty shocking — I think Doug should have been voted off.
Next week — the switch up! Which couple was your favorite tonight, HollywoodLifers?
