Okay, that was next-level. Lonely Island honored Will Smith, 47, with the Generation Award in the most amazing way possible on April 10. When they introduced the honor at the MTV Movie Awards, they performed a killer medley of his songs that brought the house down! Here’s what went down.
The boys of Lonley Island paid tribute to Will in the most amazing way possible at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards on April 10, by performing a sick medley of some of the rapper-turned-superstar’s biggest hits and roles. They performed “Parents Don’t Understand”, the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song, “Summertime”, “Men In Black”, and of course topped it all off with “Jiggy.”
The best paet of the performance was the amazing costumes. The Lonley Island guys rocked flashy, 80’s style button downs full of bright colors and popped collars, brought together by three matching pairs of overalls with one side undone a la Will. So amazing!

Plus, the backup dancers were insane. They also wore fun colors, rocking out to Fresh Prince and “Summertime” while the boys rolled around in a hilarious cardboard car. Then they paid tribute to Men In Black by bringing some sharply dressed agents on stage to wipe the audiences memories with the famous neuralyzers from the film. Too cool!

Will seemed totally stoked by the performance, laughing and dancing in the audience with his son Jaden before being honored by his good friends Queen Latifah and Halle Berry before accepting the iconic award with a passionate, sweet and grateful speech.
