Poor Kevin Hart! Before he could hardly even get started hosting the MTV Movie Awards with The Rock, Kevin’s cohost totally dissed him for being so short in their opening monologue. See what he said about ‘hobbit’ Kevin in their ‘Mad Max’-themed opener right here!
There were plenty of funny jokes made during Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart‘s opening monologue for the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, but perhaps the funniest ones were at Kevin’s expense! After the guys came in on a Mad Max-themed tank, The Rock almost immediately mocked his cohost’s 5′ 4″ stature — and even called him a “hobbit”!
Although the opener had an epic theme based on the blockbuster action hit Mad Max — with everything from fire-shooting guns to zombie-like creatures — The Rock began to talk about how much he enjoys all of Kevin’s movies. Kevin was super flattered at first…until he realized that The Rock was completely making fun of him!
“We love Kevin Heart movies, I mean some of our favorites such as ‘The Big Short’, ‘The Hip Hop Hobbit’ and ‘The Oompa Loopa Movie.'”
As The Rock listed the hilarious (but totally fake) titles, Kevin was freaking out and yelling that those definitely weren’t his movies. So how did he get The Rock back? By calling The Rock “chocolate Shrek”! Needless to say, it made for one hilarious interaction between the cohosts to kick off the show!
Amidst shading each other in their monologue, The Rock and Chris also shaded someone that wasn’t even in attendance at the awards: Hulk Hogan! After The Rock declared that they were going to be honoring about “bad ass loud ass blockbusters” throughout the night, they totally blasted Hulk Hogan’s sex tape scandal!
“The only movie to take more money than [Batman vs. Superman] in one day was Hulk Hogan’s sex tape,” Kevin quipped. “He hit her with the Hulkamania from the back.” Of course, The Rock couldn’t resist adding his own raunchy shade to the mix, saying, “He put that 24 inch python to work.”
Man, talk about tons of shots fired in a short period of time! Clearly Kevin wasn’t too hurt by The Rock’s mockery, though, because the two flawlessly carried on with the rest of their monologue, cracking everyone up with one heck of an opening!
