What a horrible tragedy. Dallas’ “Favorite Foodie” Stacy Fawcett, 45, and her son Josiah Utu, 17, were found brutally murdered on April 8, having both been stabbed to death by Stacy’s other son McCann Utu Jr., 19. He also killed himself after the attack. Here’s what we know about the devastating situation so far.
The details of this story are truly horrifying. Stacy was well known in Dallas for being the “Favorite Foodie” on Channel 8’s News 8 Daybreak. The popular TV personality’s life was cut short on April 8 by her own son in the most terrible way possible.
The 19-year-old repeatedly stabbed his brother and mom before turning the knife on himself. However, he did not successfully end his own life, instead calling 911 to report his crime. A police officer then “made entry into the residence and discovered a deceased adult male and adult female along with another adult male who was alive with multiple stab wounds,” reports People. McCann finally passed away in the hospital hours later.
Stacy’s brother reported that McCann suffered a brain injury last year, and has not been the same person since then, speculating that that’s what may have lead to the murders. The community in Dallas is devastated, and has set up a GoFundMe page for the funerals of the family. So far they have raised $7,711 toward their $10k goal. Anything more will be donated to the North Texas Food Bank in Stacy’s honor.
