A special edition of The Walking Dead comic book series is coming, and it focuses solely on Negan’s uprising. The issue, aptly titled “Here’s Negan,” is 48 pages long and will be told in 4-page increments inside Image+, reports THR.
Even better? The very first page of Negan’s story has been released, as you can see above, and it looks like we might be going backwards since it appears he’s suiting up Lucille for battle.
In four different images, you can see Negan sitting next to a fire with his trusty bat in hand. Slowly but surely you can see him wrapping the bat in barbed wire, and once the trusty weapon is complete we close in on Negan’s terrifying eyes. Um, scary.
Now, I’m sure you’re all asking yourselves… will this be a part of season seven when The Walking Dead returns in late 2016? Our fingers are crossed, that’s for sure! Oh, and so are Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s.
“I talked to Robert Kirkman after we did Talking Dead, and he is doing the backstory of Negan right now. But whether or not — or when — we see that, and I hope we do, I can’t answer that. But hopefully we’ll find out more as we go,” the brilliant actor shared with THR in an interview. “I approach [Negan]… like he used to be a used-car salesman. That’s what I know, and there’s not a lot beyond that. He’s a car salesman who has survived as long as Rick and his gang, so what has he done to get there?”
Good question. We’ll finally get our answer when the first 4-pages are released in the April 27 debut issue of Image+.
