The final ‘American Idol’ winner has been crowned and — spoiler alert — it isn’t La’Porsha Renae! After she was criticized for ‘slacking’ in her performances, La’Porsha EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com if she feels like she dropped the ball and didn’t deserve to win!
American Idol is over and while Trent Harmon, 25, basks in his amazing victory, La’Porsha Renae, 22, is left to wonder what might have been. While some will say La’Porsha didn’t put her “best foot forward,” she EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com why she thinks she came in second place.

“I don’t — you know I think I did my best,” La’Porsha EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com in response to Scott Borchetta, 53, saying she may have handed Trent the victory after she “slacked a little” in her performances. “Trent did his best and at the end of the day, it is about what America wanted.”
“My kind of singing is not really popular here, so it is understandable why they prefer Trent,” La’Porsha tells HollywoodLife.com, “and that is completely fine! But do I feel like I didn’t win the competition because I didn’t put my best foot forward or I didn’t deserve it? I don’t think that is the case!”
Though America didn’t pick La’Porsha to be the final American Idol (for now,) she doesn’t feel too bad about second place. Ahead of the finale, La’Porsha raved about the overall wonderful experience of being on the show, which included Adam Lambert’s, 34, triumphant return. “I don’t think many of us will be upset if we lose from this point,” she EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com. Even though La’Porsha came in second place, America’s not done with her – not by a long shot! She has already signed a recording contract with Scott Borschetta’s Big Machine Records (find out what Trent thinks about that here.)That’s not a big surprise because La’Porsha received a glowing recommendation from the very first Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, 33. And Kelly never votes for Idol! It looks that while La’Porsha didn’t take home the crown, she still came out a winner.
Do you think La’Porsha should have won, HollywoodLifers? Are you going to buy her album when it comes out?
