‘American Idol’ Contestants Then & Now: See Shocking Transformations

WOW, things have certainly changed! Dozens of past ‘American Idol’ contestants came back for the show’s series finale on April 7…and there were some we didn’t even recognize. Check out some of the crazy transformations here!

15 seasons and hundreds of contestants later, things were certainly different during the American Idol season finale than they’ve been on the show in the past! But one of the biggest differences was actually the way some of the former contestants looked — click through the gallery to see the changing looks here.

Did anyone even recognize Season 4 runner-up Bo Bice when he performed during the finale!? His straight, long locks were totally gone, replaced super short hair and a pretty bad-a** look! Quite honestly, I wouldn’t have even known it was him if producers didn’t flash his name across the screen. This one was definitely the most shocking of all!

We’re used to seeing Carrie Underwood these days — I mean, she’s basically flawless. Of course, she was always perfect, but look at how different that young girl with the curly/crimped hair was back when she competed on the show in 2005! Just goes to show you what years in the spotlight and money to afford the best trainers and more will get ya, right?! Girl is on FIRE, guys. Since their respective seasons on the show, both Jordin Sparks and Jennifer Hudson have gone through incredible weight-loss transformations, and both ladies looked amazing while performing during the finale. And how about Justin Guarini with that shaved head?! No more curly-headed clown hair for him!
