Ted Cruz is not welcomed in New York. The Texas senator, who once trashed ‘New York Values,’ was called a ‘right-wing bigot’ to his face during his April 6 visit to the Bronx. Students even threatened a mass walkout if Ted’s speech at their high school wasn’t cancelled!
Ted Cruz, 45, got a firsthand experience of those “New York Values” he famously trashed while making a campaign stop New York City. It doesn’t matter if Ted loves New York, because voters in the Big Apple made it clear that they have no love for a man they consider to be an “insult” to America.

“Ted Cruz has no business being in the Bronx,” said a protester during Ted’s meet-and-greet at Sabrosura 2 restaurant in the Soundview neighborhood on April 6, per Salon. The man, identified as one half of the Latin hip-hop duo called Rebel Diaz, let Ted know that he disagreed with his anti-immigrant and anti-science views. “This is an immigrant community. We deal with climate change every single day and he wants to say it doesn’t exist!”
“We live in one of the poorest congressional districts in the country,” the man said, before New York City police officers escorted him from the event. “And to receive this right-wing bigot is an insult to the whole community. You’re running on an anti-immigrant platform and you’re speaking in the Bronx? You should not be here.”
Ted’s day went from bad to worse, as he was scheduled to speak at the Bronx Lighthouse College Preparatory Academy, per the New York Daily News. He was, that is, until students said they would walk out in protest of his anti-immigrant statements!

“We told [the principal] if he came here, we would schedule a walkout, Destiny Domeneck, 16, told the Daily News. “Most of us are immigrants or come from immigrant backgrounds. Ted Cruz goes against everything our school stands for.” The protest worked, as the CEO of the Lighthouse Academies called off the visit. Sorry, Ted!
Ted didn’t realize he was insulting an entire city when he bashed Donald Trump, 69, for having “New York values” during the Jan. 14 GOP debate. The city also didn’t forget how Ted’s attitudes on immigration are just as extreme than Donald’s, and Trump’s the guy who wants to deport 11 million people from country!
Are you surprised by NYC’s response to Ted Cruz’s visit, HollywoodLifers?
