The beloved Outlander characters are back for season two, and the couple has sailed the high seas to France. The second season is going to be bigger, better, and so much more jaw-dropping. 1. When does Outlander season two premiere?
The new season will premiere on April 9 at 9 p.m. on Starz. If you’re a Starz subscriber, you can watch it two days early!
2. Does the second season follow a book?
Like the first season, Outlander season two does follow a book. The new season is based off the second book, Dragonfly in Amber, in Diana Gabaldon’s series. It’s totally not a big deal if you haven’t read the book. Outlander season two will pick up where season one left off!
3. What happened at the end of last season?
Jamie was brutally raped by Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) at the end of last season. He nearly died, and Claire was by his side every step of the way. After such pain, Claire told him she was pregnant, giving him new hope. The couple, along with Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix), sailed away for France in the season finale’s final moments.
4. What’s going to happen this season?
Claire and Jamie arrive in France to join the Jacobite rebellion led by Prince Charles Stuart. But it’s not what you think. Claire and Jamie are determined to stop the devastating battle of Culloden before it destroys Scotland. Claire is pregnant, and Jamie is still struggling to come to terms with what Black Jack Randall did to him.
5. Does this mean Brianna and Roger are on their way?
Yes! Both Brianna and Roger were cast before the season two premiere. Brianna, Jamie and Claire’s daughter, will be played by newcomer Sophie Skelton. Richard Rankin will take on the role of Roger.
