She’s baaaaack! Carrie Underwood returned to the ‘American Idol’ stage one last time for the show’s series finale and reminded us all (as if we forgot!) why she was named winner of the show in 2005. Her performance of ‘Something In THe Water’ was EVERYTHING, and of course, she looked incredible, too!
What a special night for all American Idol contestants, past and present. The final episode of the show aired on April 7, and along with dozens of other Idol alums, Carrie Underwood returned to the stage that made her famous for one last performance. She completely owned the show by singing her No. 1 hit “Something In The Water,” and we totally loved it!

Wearing an embellished white dress with sheer skirt, Carrie totally owned the stage, belting out her incredible vocals in the way we’ve come to know and love. Anyone else feeling super inspired?! And that wasn’t all — earlier in the night, she joined judge Keith Urban for a duet of “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around,” and it was TOO good for words. You can stream Carrie’s music completely unlimited and ad-free HERE.
Carrie was the first country singer to win Idol when she beat out Bo Bice during the Season 4 finale in 2005, and has gone on to become the most successful contestant, number-wise, that the show has ever had. The “Heartbeat” singer was a fan favorite throughout her entire season and never landed in the bottom two once. It was pretty clear she was going to be a star from day one, don’t you guys think!?
11 years later, the 33-year-old has released six studio albums, along with a Greatest Hits record. She’s won SEVEN Grammy Awards, too, and throughout it all, she got married to Mike Fisher and welcomed a beautiful baby son, Isaiah. Is there anything Carrie can’t do?! She’s certainly a great person for this year’s finalists, La’Porsha Renae and Trent Harmon, to look up to!
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Carrie’s performance?!
