As it turns out, all you have to do is follow the age old advice that every nutritionist, fitness expert, and doctor has recommended from the dawn of time: keep your diet in check and your exercise regimen regular! The hilarious comedian stuck to a high-protein, low-carb diet, as many do, and consistently saw the pounds melt off.
There was another reason why the Ghostbusters star was so successful at losing weight. You’re really not going to like it. “The real secret is a super-boring life. You go to bed at 7:30[pm]. That’s the trick,” she told OK magazine. Okay, that sounds awful. But you never know with Melissa; there’s a healthy chance that she’s totally joking about this tip!
One thing that hasn’t changed with Melissa is her beautiful self esteem, which she’s tried to instill in her young daughters, Vivian and Georgette. “A biggie for me is, take the compliment…It’s kind of a rule with me — just say thank you, don’t negate it. I hope that’s one of the many ways I show my girls that it’s OK to like who you are and it’s ok that everybody’s different. If we were all the same, we’d be robots.”
