Poor Kesha. She just lost her war against Sony, as a new report claims a New York state judge dismissed her lawsuit, in which she claimed she has become a slave to Sony with Dr. Luke as the master. Sadly, the judge didn’t buy what Kesha was trying to sell.
That’s a wrap, folks. Kesha‘s war against Sony has come to an end, as a judge just dismissed her latest lawsuit, in which she claimed she had become a slave to the record company. In fact, she alleged Sony forced her to work with Dr. Luke, but a New York state judge didn’t take a sip of the Kool-aid she was trying to serve him.
The “TiK ToK” singer reportedly tried to get an emergency order, which would have given her the right to get out of her Sony contract, on grounds that Dr. Luke allegedly raped her and Sony was torturing her by keeping her locked in her deal, TMZ reports. Kesha also tried to argue that she was the victim of a hate crime due to Dr. Luke’s alleged abuse.
Kesha initially lost her bid, but tried to take the issue to court. Sony tried to get the case thrown out, and a judge ended up siding with the record company. The New York state judge didn’t see Kesha as a “slave,” because in the court’s eyes, Sony wasn’t forcing her to only work with Dr. Luke. Because of that, the judge felt “Kesha was being unreasonable.”

As far as the hate crime argument goes, the judge said, “Although [Luke’s] alleged actions were directed to Kesha, who is female, [her claims] do no allege that [Luke] harbored animus toward women or was motivated by gender animus when he allegedly behaved violently toward Kesha.” He then finished with: “Every rape is not a gender-motivated hate crime.”
