Selena Gomez, 23, created one of the most amazing moments at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on April 3 with as simple act of friendship. After presenting her best friend, Taylor Swift, 26, with the Album of the Year award, she gave the pop star a gigantic hug! Click through to see a photo of the touching moment!
Look at these cuties! You can see the deep emotion on their faces as the moment sinks in: Taylor is having a momentous night! Selena looks like a proud mama, and Taylor cannot wipe the grin off her face, both realizing she won the biggest award of the night, and that her best friend was there to do the honor of giving it to her!
Taylor had arguably the best night at the Forum in Inglewood, California, winning multiple, prestigious awards! Not only did she pocket Album of the Year for 1989, but won the following: Female Artist of the Year, Best Tour, and Most Meme-able Moment. That moment? When she plays the “crazy girl” in the “Blank Space” video, who has mascara running down her face, and a huge knife in hand!
Selena and Taylor’s embrace was especially sweet because the two artists were actually rivals at the awards show! Selena was nominated for Female Artist of the Year as well, but it didn’t seem to bother her in the least that her friend won instead. So sweet! No bad blood here, amirite? Sorry. It probably helped that Selena was actually sitting at the same table as Tay and her boyfriend Calvin Harris during the awards show! They got to chat all night!
Though Selena didn’t catch Justin Bieber‘s performance at the awards show, she was definitely there to see him win Male Artist of the Year! A fan in the audience caught Selena giving her ex a standing ovation as he accepted his award! It looks like Selena’s super supportive of all her friends!
