It’s no secret that Gwyneth Paltrow, 43, is a fan of natural beauty products and treatments, but her latest interview included a totally bizarre beauty tip. The Goop founder and Juice Beauty creative director spoke to The New York Times on all of her beauty must-haves from her makeup and hair favorites to the strangest skin care secret we’ve ever heard.

When speaking about beauty treatments she’s tried out, Gwyneth told The New York Times, “Generally, I’m open to anything,” and she really meant it! After revealing that she’s a fan of acupuncture, Gwyneth took us by surprise when she said, “I’ve been stung by bees.”
She went on to explain, “It’s a thousands of years old treatment called apitherapy. People use it to get rid of inflammation and scarring. It’s actually pretty incredible if you research it. But, man, it’s painful,” she said.
If the whole bee thing isn’t for you (yeah, we’re not running to try that one out either), Gwyneth also shared some painless beauty secrets. When it comes to skin care, she likes to use her own creation, the Goop Exfoliating Instant Facial, and non-toxic SPFs like the one from Drunk Elephant.
For makeup, Gwyneth shared that she’s a less-is-more kind of girl, usually opting for just a simple cheek stain and lip gloss. But she sticks with natural products like those found in the Juice Beauty range. She will make an exception, however, when it comes to her hair, saying, “That’s the one area I can’t find a non-toxic product that works well.” Her products of choice are shampoos and conditioner from Shu Uemura to combat the damage that comes from bleaching her hair.
