Whoa, Thomas Rhett just absolutely killed it! The country star took the stage at the ACM Awards to perform his romantic hit ‘Die A Happy Man,’ and it may have just been his best TV performance yet. Yep, this is definitely TR’s year!
Thomas Rhett may be newer to the country scene, but he lit up the stage like a pro at the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 3! The talented singer sang his No. 1 award-winning song “Die A Happy Man” at the show, and completely blew us away with the swoon-worthy performance. We’re obsessed!

Earlier in the night, Thomas won the “Single of the Year” award for this song, which he wrote about his wife and childhood sweetheart, Lauren Akins. She was beaming from the audience as his words about their love echoed through the massive arena, and we can’t even imagine how amazing that moment was for her. TR looked totally dapper and completely made us melt while he serenaded the audience. SO in love with this guy!
The 26-year-old, who’s written songs for some of the biggest names in country music, shot to the top of the charts with his 2013 single “It Goes Like This,” and followed it up with other hits like “Get Me Some Of That,” “Make Me Wanna” and “Crash And Burn.” But it was this 2015 romantic love song, “Die A Happy Man,” which he wrote for his wife, that really got people interested. Literally — best. song. ever.
Thomas didn’t win New Artist of the Year at the 2015 ACMs, but this year, he’s officially an award winner and it couldn’t be more deserved. He’s currently on the road with Jason Aldean for an epic tour that will last through the summer, and if you haven’t seen him live yet, you NEED to get to it! Meanwhile, you can stream Thomas’ music completely unlimited and ad-free HERE.
