Tamra Barney, 48, and Vicki Gunvalson, 54, were rushed to the hospital following a horrific ATVing accident in California on April 2. Neither Real Housewives of Orange County star were in danger of death, but the girls were likely left traumatized after their vehicle rolled over several times — and their fun day in the sand dunes nearly turned tragic!
The terrifying accident occurred around 12:50 p.m. PST on April 2, law enforcement sources told TMZ. Tamra was driving a Polaris RZR through the desert when suddenly the girls flipped over multiple times. Although officials didn’t elaborate on what exactly caused the wreck, sources did say that Tamra and Vicki were riding in the ATV as part of production for RHOC. A camera crew for the show was taping at the time. We can only imagine how scary that was for everyone to witness!
Following the accident, both women were rushed to the hospital, mostly out of “an abundance of caution,” according to the outlet. Vicki was immediately airlifted to a nearby hospital, but fortunately she was released in the early morning of April 3 with no major injuries. Tamra was released from the hospital the same day as the accident. Phew!
There is no word so far as to whether the accident will be featured on the next season of RHOC. Vicki and Tamra have yet to speak out about the wreck themselves, but Vicki has already been fairly active on Twitter since it happened. After such a scary incident, we’re so happy to hear everything is okay!
