Who needs Nick Young? Iggy Azalea’s performance at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on April 3 proved she doesn’t need a cheating fiancé — just her and her ‘Team.’ And when that team consists of dancers and a graffiti covered jet plane, it makes for quite the jaw-dropping show!
Iggy Azalea, 25, wasn’t going to let the controversy of her fiancé, Nick Young, 30, admitting he slept with another woman ruin her iHeartRadio Music Awards. Iggy put aside the scandal to rock out, turning it up with a life-sized private jet on the stage!
Iggy was on fire when she performed “Team” at The Forum in Los Angeles for the April 3 award show. But, she didn’t arrive in four-wheelers like Fetty Wap did. Instead, Iggy flew first class, with a jet covered in graffiti helping her close the show in style! Along with her “team” of dancers, Iggy brought the show to an end with her own style and attitude. Now, who’s going to get that plane back to the airport?
You got to feel for Iggy. The debut of her new single at a major award show has been overshadowed by her fiancé’s cheating scandal. Ever since the Los Angeles Lakers’ D’Angelo Russell, 20, decided to become an investigative reporter and record his teammate’s confessing to cheating, everyone has been talking about that instead of Iggy’s new music.
That’s a shame, because she crushed her performance of “TEAM” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. She even dropped a high-paced, action packed music video for her new song. Sadly a video where she does donuts in a sports car while being chased by the police isn’t nearly as dramatic as her personal life as of late. However, even with this betrayal, Iggy was still wearing her engagement ring at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Thankfully, Iggy has her BFF (and fellow iHeartRadio Music Awards performer) Demi Lovato, 23, to lean on during this scandal. Demi was supposed to be one of Iggy’s bridesmaids at her wedding, but since Nick confessed to being unfaithful, the wedding may just be called off. After all, Iggy thanked Russell for recording Nick, saying she doesn’t want to marry a cheater.
Perhaps Iggy should be thanking Nicki Minaj, 33, instead? The “Truffle Butter” rapper is allegedly behind the leak of Russell’s video, as someone in her camp snatched it off of Snapchat live and passed it around. Nicki’s up for three iHeartRadio Awards, including Best Fan Army and Hip Hop Song of the Year. Nicki has trashed Iggy during award show acceptance speeches before – will she shade Iggy again if she wins?
