The 51st annual Academy Of Country Music Awards kicked off with a bang on April 3, when Blake Shelton crashed Luke Bryan’s performance. Luke introduced his co-host Dierks Bentley, but Blake came out instead and the entire audience erupted in laughter.
There may be a lot of attractions in Las Vegas, but Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley put on the best performance of the night while opening the 51st annual Academy Of Country Music Awards on April 3. However, they might have to give a little bit of credit to Blake Shelton, who crashed the opener.
Luke started the show by performing his hit single, “Huntin’, Fishin’, And Lovin’ Every Day,” and when he went to introduce his new co-host, Dierks Bentley, halfway through the song, Blake Shelton came out on stage instead. Dierks looked disappointed, while Luke fell over because he was laughing so hard. Blake then let Luke finish his song, and Dierks finally made his way on stage.

While at the microphone, Luke and Dierks both discussed how they were hoping to be paired up with a hot female like Carrie Underwood. Then, they dropped a bunch of celebrity names, all of whom were in the audience. And last but not least, they finished things up by fighting over who’s responsible for Chris Stapleton‘s success. As it turned out, neither Luke nor Dierks are responsible for it — Carrie Underwood is! She claimed to have purchased a Chris Stapleton t-shirt before he was even born. She then turned to Chris and told him, “You’re welcome.” Mic drop.
