Chris Stapleton, 37, brought the house down at the 51st Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 3. His haunting voice was on full display during the duet and so was his love for his wife of 9 years Morgane Stapleton. Here’s all the details on their heartfelt performance.
The packed crowd at the MGM Garden Arena couldn’t contain their love for Chris and neither can we. Chris and his wife Morgane blew us away with their perfect harmonizing on their super romantic song “Fire Away” from his award winning album Traveler. With lyrics like, “Your love might be my damnation, But I’ll cry to my grave” we couldn’t help but get a little choked up. And we weren’t the only ones feeling the love! Miranda Lambert, 32, and Anderson East, 27, snuggled close in the crowd during the rousing performance. And Chris’ biggest competitor of the night Eric Church, 38, was in awe, giving a standing O and clasping his hands in prayer during the duet.

Chris’ soulful performance of “Fire Away” wasn’t the only thing that made him a stand out star of the night. He was nominated for seven awards — the most of the night — and took home album of the year for Traveler.
