Arsenal’s boys were dumped out the FA Cup by the hornets, so will be looking for revenge in the league. They will be buoyed by a fit-again Petr Cech, who is set to return between the sticks. But they did have a lot of players away on international duty, including star players Mesut Ozil, who played for Germany against England in their 3-2 loss, and Alexis Sanchez, whose Chile team suffered home disappointment against Argentina.
Watford on the other hand boasts one of the best forward lines in the league. Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo have been in lethal form this season, scoring 26 goals between them. They combine so well, so Arsenal’s defense will need to shackle them well.
Arsenal desperately needs the win because they’re 11 points behind leaders Leicester, albeit with a game in hand. With only 7 games left to go after this one, the Gunners are running out of games to catch the leaders at the top of the standings. But it is still possible, and they can’t afford any slip-ups now.
Arsenal were stunned on Mar. 13 by the Hornets in the FA Cup Quarter-final at Emirates Stadium, with a stunning goal by Adlene Guedioura the pick of the strikes in a 2-1 loss for the Gunners. That was Arsenal’s first FA Cup defeat since 2013, having won the cup 2-years in a row.
