We were so fortunate to catch up with Lindsey Vonn at the ANA Inspiring Women in Sports Conference in Rancho Mirage, Calif. on Tuesday, March 29. Lindsey opened up to us about her knee injury, heartbreak, and most importantly, how she feels about being considered “sexy” in the public eye.
“I think it’s about being confident in yourself, and that’s why I did the ‘Sports Illustrated’ shoot,” Lindsey told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY, explaining why she thinks it’s important for sports stars to also embrace their sexy side. “I’ve done them before, but obviously the swimsuit edition is taking it to another level. I was very nervous, I’m not entirely comfortable with how I look.” Wait, how is that even possible? Lindsey’s totally hot!
However, she went on to explain that doing the photo shoot really helped her boost her confidence, which makes total sense. “I think this whole experience gave me a lot of confidence in myself and I want to show that to young girls. Strong is beautiful and you should be proud of yourself and use what you have,” Lindsey told us. “I won’t be doing it in the future, but I proved that I can do it.”
While chatting with Lindsey, she also opened up about her recent knee injury, and how she’s ready to get back to training. “It’s good. I’m still wearing a brace, but in two weeks I’ll be done with that and will be able to train harder. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m almost over it,” she shared.
“My goal is to be healthy for the Olympics, so injuries like these I should probably try to avoid,” Lindsey also shared, and we’re so excited to hear that she’s gearing up to race the slopes at the Olympics. It will be an exciting time for her for sure!
