Lakers fans are NOT happy with D’Angelo Russell. The team’s point guard received a mixed reaction from the crowd at Staples Center on March 30 after he leaked a video of his teammate, Nick Young, admitting to cheating. A good section of the audience even booed him as he got on the court — ouch!
Nick Young, 30, may have been the one who cheated on Iggy Azalea, 25, but D’Angelo Russell, 20, is the one who’s feeling the most public shame. The L.A. Lakers star played in the team’s game against the Miami Heat on March 30, but definitely didn’t get much love from the crowd while he was on the court. Yikes!

From the moment his name was announced, you could hear the massive crowd booing. There were a few screams mixed in there, but according to attendees at the game, the words “Traitor” and “Snitch” were thrown around, too, ESPN reports. And even when D’Angelo made a good play, there wasn’t an exciting reaction.
“STAPLES Center crowd is applauding D’Angelo Russell’s nice plays w/ the intensity of a gold gallery when a player finishes a three-putt bogey,” one fan explained on Twitter. Oh man!
In case you’re just catching up on the drama, here’s what went down: D’Angelo filmed a video of his teammate, Nick, admitting to cheating on his fiance, Iggy, and it went viral online on March 29. The rapper took to Twitter to “thank” D’Angelo for exposing her man, but has not yet commented on whether or not they’re staying together.
Obviously, this whole situation made things awkward for D’Angelo and Nick, and the former apologized to his teammate, who accepted, before Wednesday’s game. “I feel as sick as possible,” the 20-year-old admitted in a post-game press conference. “I’ve been asked that question 110 times and my answer, my feelings stay the same. I wish I could make things better right away, but I can’t.” He also added that it was never his intention for the video to go public.
Meanwhile, Nick remained level-headed when bombarded with questions himself. “What happened is what happened,” he told reporters. “Ya gotta work on it. I don’t want to get into my personal life right now. I think it’s best. You know, me and D’Angelo handled the situation in a private matter outside the media. I think it’s something we do need to sit down and talk about.” So…no denial of the cheating — will Iggy’s wedding be called off?!
