What does Day 17 mean? Well on ‘Survivor,’ it means it’s time for the merge — and a lot of infections. So, why did tribal get canceled?
Right away, everyone realized the merge had arrived on Survivor. However, did that mean that the muscles behind the brawn would be taking over? Well that’s how Scot and Jason felt. Especially after a few swigs of wine at the merge feast!
Would the beauty, brains and brawns reunite with their original tribes? Well not so much. The brains side found themselves on the outside when Debbie tired to take control of everything.
Meanwhile, Jason and Scot (no shocker here) took control of the beauty/brawn group — because the popular guys don’t date the brains, as misogynist Jason put it. He also found out that Tai had an idol and knew that meant they could combine theirs for the “super idol.” Little do they know, Neal also had one and he shared that with Aubry. So together, they could fight back.
The first individual immunity challenge was all about balance — and Jason wasn’t as badass as he thought; he was the third eliminated. And if you thought beauty was week, you were wrong; the final three were OG beauty members: Tai, Nick and Julia. However, it was Nick who became the first winner.
Afterward in the middle of all the alliance-forming, Jeff Probst brought a doctor in to take a look at all of the infections on the island to make sure everyone was ok. Most were OK; however, the brains had it worst than anyone thought. Aubry was put on antibiotics, but it was Neal who had it the worst. His back had the most disgusting looking infection, but it was the one on his knee that was so close to the nerve that he was actually taken out of the game!
That meant no tribal council, and he’d be the first member of the jury. Apparently these conditions are even tougher than they look.
Make sure to come back tomorrow for our exclusive interview with Neal!
