Is Donald Trump really a nice guy? According to the GOP frontrunner, he is! After attacking Heidi Cruz’s looks and mocking her husband, Ted Cruz, over his sex scandal, the Republican presidential candidate says he’s a lot ‘nicer’ than people think!
Ask Ted Cruz, 45, and his wife, Heidi Cruz, 43, what they think about Donald Trump, 69, and the words “nice guy” would likely the last that come to mind. Yet, after Donald mocked Heidi’s appearance and taunted Ted over allegations that he cheated on his wife, the ex-Celebrity Apprentice star thinks he’s actually a complete sweetheart!

“I think I’m somewhat different [than his public appearance,]” Donald told PEOPLE magazine. “I’m a much nicer person than people would think, to see me from the outside.” Really? After comparing Ben Carson, 64, to a child molester, mocking Marco Rubio’s, 44, height and dissing Jeb Bush’s, 63, “tough guy” act, it’s hard to think that Donald is really a teddy bear.
Donald actually justified his outrageous actions. “On the one hand, you might see that as bad,” he told PEOPLE. “But on the other hand, you don’t want people to know you that well.” Is this what Ben Carson meant when he said there’s “two Donald Trumps?”
A presidential candidate who doesn’t want the people to actually know where he stands? That seems like a huge contradiction. That doesn’t bother Trump, especially when he has to attack his opponents, like how he threatened to “spill the beans” on Ted Cruz’s wife. “Sometimes when you have to be very tough with someone who’s being touch with you, you can’t be so presidential,” Donald said. “I think it works to my advantage most of the time.”
The one time it may not work for Donald is in November. A new poll found that 3 in 4 women registered to vote in the 2016 election hold an unfavorable view of Donald Trump, per CNN. Perhaps mocking Heidi’s looks, calling Hillary Clinton, 68, a “b*tch,” mocking Carly Fiorina’s, 61, face and constant calling Megyn Kelly, 45, a bimbo is not a good “presidential” campaign strategy.
So, should the “real” Donald run for president? Not if he’s behind the National Enquirer’s report that accused Ted of cheating on Heidi with five women. Ted thinks Trump’s friends at the magazine did Donald’s dirty work, but Donald swears he doesn’t “surround myself with political hacks.” After all, Donald’s really a nice guy – right?
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you think Donald is “much nicer” than he appears in public?
