Melissa first revealed her dramatic weight loss through an ad campaign for her clothing line, Seven7, which was released last summer. At the time, Melissa told More magazine she wanted women of every size to feel good about themselves, saying: “People don’t stop at size 12. I feel like there’s a big thing missing where you can’t dress to your mood above a certain number.”
Since the line’s release, Melissa’s weight loss has only continued, with In Touch revealing that she has lost 75 pounds! Never one to shy away from the diet and fitness questions that get thrown her way, Melissa has spoken on a number of occasions about how her weight loss wasn’t really planned, but started taking off while training for her 2015 comedy, Spy.
“I truly stopped worrying about it,” she said of her big diet secret. “I think there’s something to kinda loosening up and not being so nervous and rigid about it that, bizarrely, has worked.”
Melissa showed off her weight loss in a cream blouse and matching maxi skirt that we have a feeling is one of her own designs. Heavily involved in every step of the line’s development, Melissa previously revealed her involvement with the line came as a bit of a shock: “The initial thought was, I may or may not go to meetings. And then I started delivering drawings and saying, ‘No, this is the length, this is the arm measurement,’ and they were like, ‘Um, we kinda didn’t think you’d be here.’ I just figure if it has my name on it and I want to make people feel good about wearing it, I can’t pass it off.”
