Kylie Jenner ‘broke Google’ on March 28, when all 8 shades of her lip kits were restocked on her website. See what happened and how Kylie apologized below!
Fans of Kylie Jenner, 18, and her lip kits were counting down the seconds until 4pm PST on March 28, when they were restocked. Unfortunately, over 200,000 people tried to access KylieCosmetics.com and “broke” Google Analytics, the tool that measures the website traffic!
Kylie promoted the re-stock on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat — perhaps it was a little too much promotion, since so many people tried to buy, and it completely overloaded the site!
She was live snapping during the re-stock and told fans, “There’s 200,000 people trying to buy lip kits so of course we are having technical difficulties. I see a lot of you are getting through, though. You guys, please don’t be mad at me.”
“Google can not track it,” a voice off camera said.
“Can we fix it? Nobody be mad. I’m sorry. Some people are getting through though so just keep checking… Everything sold out!”
Everything sold out at 4:16pm PST, quicker than ever. She even asked her dogs, “Are you proud of me?”
Kylie Jenner Broke Google — Lip Kit Restock Has Technical Difficulties
Kylie told her Snapchat followers:
“I cannot believe it sold out this fast, there were so many people on the site it literally broke. I’m so happy for the people that got through. I’m really sorry if you didn’t get through.”
“I love you guys, we’re going to be back almost every week. Thanks for all your support!”
Since a ton of people weren’t able to get a lip kit, try this similar liquid lipstick that we love — Lime Crime Velvetines in Cashmere. It’s a number one best selling lipstick on Amazon!
