The Oklahoma Sooners were the first team to reach the Final Four, and they did it in blistering style. Led by the heroic Buddy Hield, they smashed the Oregon Ducks 80-68. Buddy has really made his name in this tournament and his 3-point shooting has been off the charts.
The Sooners will be facing the Villanova Wildcats at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on April 2. The Wildcats showed they were no pushover by defeating the Kansas Jayhawks in a thrilling Elite Eight game that really could’ve gone either way. But thanks to the under-pressure free-throws Ryan Arcidiacono pulled off in that game, they progressed with a 64-59 win.
As for the other two teams, it came down to some nail-biting games to determine who would be in the coveted Final Four spots. The Syracuse Orange — the lowest seed still playing in the tournament — managed to top the No. 1 seeded Virginia Cavaliers with a strong finish and a score of 68-62 on March 27. The Orange have proved that they were underrated by starting as a No. 10 seed!
To fight for the spot in the championship, the Orange will go head-to-head with the North Carolina Tarheels in Houston on April 2, as the top-ranked Tarheels defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish by a score of 88-74. As the only No. 1 seed left in the tourney, they’ll likely be turning up the heat when they face Syracuse!
So there you have it — your Final Four teams are the Oklahoma Sooners, Villanova Wildcats, Syracuse Orange, and North Carolina Tarheels! We cannot wait for the Final Four to get underway, and haven’t been left disappointed by this year’s March Madness. In fact, the only thing that fills us with sadness is what to do when it all ends!
