Rory Feek and his daughter, Indiana, are slowly adjusting to life without Joey Feek, and on March 27, they’re tasked with celebrating their very first holiday without her. See the adorable photo and caption Rory shared of the duo for Easter right here.
It’s been a rough month for Rory and Indiana Feek since Joey Feek’s death on March 4, and Easter marks the first holiday they’ll have to spend without her. The day before the 2016 holiday, Rory shared a sweet photo of himself and his daughter on Instagram, and made sure to point out how Joey is always with them in the caption. See it here!

“My little bundle of Joey,” the singer captioned the adorable photo, in which he holds the 2-year-old on his lap and wraps his arms around her. It’s obvious that Rory is showering Indiana with so much love, as she just can’t wipe the huge smile off her face, and the joy is clearly contagious, as he’s also able to get a small grin out for the pic, despite missing his wife terribly.
Joey tragically lost her battle with ovarian cancer at just 40 years old earlier this month, leaving Rory to raise their little girl alone. And even though Indiana is still so young, she’s definitely noticed the emptiness that’s filled the family’s home since Joey’s sad death, and has been glued to her daddy’s side ever since. “Indy and I are trying to adjust to our new life at home,” Rory explained in a blog post. “To the empty chair at our table and pillow on the other side of my bed. Desperately missing Joey and carrying her in our hearts with us everywhere we go. Knowing, believing…that she’s looking down each morning as I take Indy into High Hopes, still smiling.”
High Hopes is the preschool Indiana began attending after Joey’s death, and according to the blog post, she’s adjusting beautifully! It’s obviously not going to be easy for Indy to grow up without a mother, but Rory has definitely stepped it up over the last few months and is doing such a great job. We’re sending our Easter love to the Feeks today, that’s for sure!
HollywoodLifers, how do you think Rory is doing raising Indiana on his own since Joey’s passing?
