Ouch! An unfortunate Iowa State cheerleader got more than she bargained for during her college’s Mar. 25 Sweet Sixteen game in the NCAA Tournament when she got struck in the face by a basketball. Watch the clip here!
That’ll sting! A poor Iowa State cheerleader saw her life literally flash before her eyes as a ball came hurtling towards her face at breakneck speed during the college’s NCAA Tournament game against Virginia. It all happened so fast, the young girl didn’t have time to duck out the way in time! Bash! She got struck right in the kisser!
There didn’t seem to be any danger as the ball ran loose, until it struck an out-stretched foot of an Iowa player for a kick ball and cannoned into the young girl. How terrible for her!
The game stopped momentarily as someone rushed to the girl’s aide, she was absolutely devastated by what had happened — and who could blame her!
She was led off the court, in floods of tears, in what must’ve been a real shock to the system. However, doing what every good cheerleader does, she didn’t forget to shake her poms poms as she was being escorted away from the action. Somebody give that girl a medal for bravery — she deserves it!

As for the game itself, perhaps it was lucky she didn’t stay around for too long to watch, because her team suffered Sweet Sixteen heartbreak losing to the # 1 seeded Cavaliers 84-71. Better luck next time!
